It's all about attitude at work

I admit it. My attitude at work has been bad lately. That's one reason that I am so looking forward to a weeks vacation. Hopefully I can turn it around. I'm not the kind of person that will make excuses about my attitude. After all, we are all overworked and under appreciated.

This mourning I went to IHOP to eat breakfast. The people that know me knot that this is one of my favorite activities post work out. At IHOP they have a server named Ed. Ed's attitude is fantastic. He is very polite and works his ass off to make sure that he provides the best service to every customer that comes in. He never forgets what I drink, he just brings it to me.

Ed reminds me of the book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey. In work as in life, we see the world through our perspective. Our work is neither good or bad. Our perception is what make us think if it is good or bad. Gandhi said, "They cannot take away our self respect if we do not give it to them". Our response to what happens to us affects us more then what actually happened.

So, be like Ed and take pride in your work and enjoy it.
